When I last saw Susie and JP, it was freezing. I had a camera, they ditched their coats, and we had fun all over Old Town shooting their engagement session. It was so cold, though, that I really wanted to give them another opportunity to do their engagement session in warmer weather! But I also wanted to give them some new places… here are my favorites from their second engagement session!

Caressa & DJ - engagement!
Darlene & Joe - Engagement
When I first started emailing with Darlene, I knew that this was going to be a perfect fit for photography. Brad and I spent a late afternoon with them in Old Town, Alexandria, and had an absolute blast. They look so great together, it was impossible to take a bad picture of them!

It was not hard to get Joe to get back down on one knee. He jumped at the chance! (And check out Darlene’s shoes!)

Laura & Akins - Engagement
Laura and Akins were kind enough to reschedule their outdoor engagement portrait session from two weekends ago, when the rain was definitely going to put a damper on our fun. I’d never met them before and I’m not their wedding photographer, so I had no idea what they were going to be like - this session ended up a total blast for both Brad and I as we got to better know these two.
They were a little camera-shy at first, but they got some great laughs out of the way in the beginning, which of course made for great pictures:
Another blue wall special:
You can just sense from how they interact how incredibly in love they are. It’s a quiet, romantic kind of interaction.
Last but not least, this is my favorite. You just CAN’T BEAT the lighting at this hour.
Rebecca & Ian - Engagement
When I first met Rebecca and Ian, I was struck by how funny they both are and how relaxed they were. When they started telling me about their wedding I totally fell head over heels. I knew I wanted to be their photographer! I lucked out and they chose me - so naturally I was totally excited to shoot their engagement portraits this weekend.
I mean, come on, how can you beat these grins:

They kept each other laughing the whole time. We stopped for some ice cream:

I played with some texture on this one:

This garden was really perfect with all of its vibrant colors. I feel like it really matched their personalities so well.

I can’t wait for their wedding - it’ll be a TON of fun and such a treat to photograph. Thanks, Rebecca and Ian, for letting us hang out with you!
